It's playoff time, and Richland had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Chiawana Riverhawks 13-3 on Tuesday. The Bombers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 contests by six runs or more this season.
Ali Evans was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Payton Chacon was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Sophia Sams was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.
Richland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chiawana only posted an OBP of .217.
The victory (which was Richland's tenth in a row) raised their record to 23-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Chiawana, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7.
As of now, neither Richland nor the Riverhawks have any future games scheduled.
