There was no change in the top 6 spots because De La Salle doesn't lose - OK, it also had a bye. No. 2 Del Oro rolled and No. 3 St. Mary's was idle and the other teams prevailed.
The rankings could see a shift this week as No. 2 Del Oro hosts No. 6 Folsom in a Sierra Foothill League showdown in Placer County.

Update: Top-ranked by the San Francisco Chronicle and Bay Area News Group, the Spartans were idle. The last effort was a 28-21 victory over ranked Antioch for the program's 100th consecutive win against California competition.
Kairee Robinson rushed for 309 yards and three touchdowns, including the deciding 57-yard score in the fourth quarter. The loss was 23-21 to the top-ranked team in Utah, East of Salt Lake City, on a late field goal. The NorCal unbeaten streak is 274, dating to 1992. The Spartans have won 24 consecutive North Coast Section titles and 32 since 1982, and they have won six CIF State titles in seven seasons.

Update: The Golden Eagles rolled Nevada Union (Grass Valley) 58-21 after leading 37-15 at the half. Del Oro rushed for 539 yards on 50 carries, including 118 by
Camrion Davis with three touchdowns and 201 and three scores for
Dalton Gee. An earlier win was 16-14 over No. 7 Bellarmine and 29-9 over the top-ranked team in the Northern Section - Pleasant Valley. The winning streak is 14 with the last setback to De La Salle last fall. The defending CIF State Division II-AA champion Golden Eagles seek a 4th CIF Bowl bid since 2011.
3. (3) St. Mary's (Stockton), 4-1Section: Sac-Joaquin
League: Tri-County
Coach: Tony Franks
Next: vs. Tokay (Lodi), Friday.
Update: Top ranked by the Stockton Record, the Rams were idle. They fell to state and national powerhouse St. John Bosco (Bellflower) 55-16 after leading 10-7 early. Earlier wins include once-ranked Serra (San Mateo) and ranked Cardinal Newman.
4. (4) Saint Francis (Mountain View), 5-0Section: Central Coast
League: West Catholic Athletic
Coach: Greg Calcagno

Update: The Lancers beat No. 7 Bellarmine 21-12 to snap an 11-game losing streak to their chief rival. They led 21-0 as
Garrett McCarthy returned two punts for touchdowns and
Cyrus Habibi-Likio had a 60-yard touchdown sprint. Beyond WCAL play, St. Francis seeks its 17th Central Coast Section championship under famed coach Janda, who has a section-record 273 victories.

League: West Catholic Athletic

Update: The Warriors beat Mitty (San Jose) 38-31 in double overtime as
Miles Kendrick hit
Anthony Flores for the winner. This is the WCAL for you. An earlier win was 17-14 over ranked Pleasant Valley, the top-ranked team in the Northern Section. The WCAL continues to be a grinder of a league where champions also seek section crowns and state bowls.
6. (6) Folsom, 5-1Section: Sac-Joaquin
League: Sierra Foothill
Coach: Kris Richardson
Next: at No. 2 Del Oro, Friday
Update: The Bulldogs rolled once-ranked Granite Bay 42-0 as
Joe Curry passed for 149 yards and four touchdowns, two to
Jack Sa, one to
Joe Ngata and one to
Drake Stallworth. The loss was to surging Sacramento 32-27 to snap a state-leading 48-game regular-season winning streak. The Bulldogs seek a fifth successive section championship and a third state title since 2010.
7. (7) Bellarmine College Prep (San Jose), 3-2Section: Central Coast
League: West Catholic Athletic
Coach: Mike Janda
Next: vs. Sacred Heart Cathedral (San Francisco), Friday
Update: The Bells lost to No. 4 Saint Francis 21-12 despite allowing just one offensive touchdown (and two punt-return scores), and they showed grit in trailing 21-0 and rallying. Bellarmine had won 11 consecutive games against its top rival. The other setback was 16-14 to No. 2 Del Oro. Bellarmine is the defending Division I NorCal champions, and they seek a fifth section title under famed coach Janda, winner of a section-record 273 games.
8. (8) Clayton Valley Charter (Concord), 4-1Section: North Coast
League: Diablo Valley
Coach: Tim Murphy
Next: at Miramonte (Orinda), Friday
Update: The Ugly Eagles were ilde. This is a powerhouse running team whose lone setback was to state-ranked Helix (San Diego) 13-0. In an opener, the Ugly Eagles beat five-time defending Nevada state champion Reed 35-21. Clayton Valley Charter has reached a CIF Bowl the last two seasons.
9. (10) Pittsburg, 5-0Section: North Coast
League: Bay Valley
Coach: Vic Galli

Update: The Pirates were idle. Their last effort was a 42-31 win over once-ranked Vacaville as
Trey Turner passed for 307 yards and three touchdowns, two to
A'jae Boyd.
Montaz Thompson is the star. Pittsburg has been a Bay Area power for decades and is the last NorCal program to beat De La Salle, in the 1991 North Coast Section finals.
10. (11) Monte Vista (Danville), 5-0Section: North Coast
League: East Bay
Coach: Craig Bergman
Next: at Dublin, Friday
Update: The Mustangs rolled Granda (Livermore) 35-14, leading 35-0 at the half.
Jake Haener passed for 180 yards and three touchdowns, two to
Nate Landman, and
Shane Perry rushed for 75 yards and a score. Monte Vista is aiming for a league title, and a shot at De La Salle in a regular-season finale.
11. (15) Sacramento, 4-1League: Metropolitan
Coach: Justin Reber
Next: vs. Laguna Creek (Elk Grove), Saturday
Update: The Dragons were awarded a forfeit win to Florin (Sacramento) after the Panthers were not able to field a full-enough roster to compete. The big Dragons win was 32-27 over then No. 2 Folsom, snapping the Bulldogs' state-leading 48-game regular-season winning streak.
Derek Shelton and
Tariq Hollandsworth have played well. The Dragons start only four seniors and lost an opener to state-ranked JSerra (San Juan Capistrano) despite accumulating 496 yards.
12. (16) Elk Grove, 4-1Section: Sac-Joaquin
League: Delta
Coach: Chris Nixon
Next: at No. 21 Jesuit, Saturday
Update: The Thundering Herd bounced back big from a stunning 16-14 last-play field-goal loss to Davis to beat previous No. 9 Grant 24-17.
Jayden Machado had three touchdown passes, two to
Gavin Reinwald, and the Hammerhead offensive line had a stellar group game. The Herd has reached the a section final three times since 2012.
13. (9) Grant (Sacramento), 4-1Section: Sac-Joaquin
League: Delta
Coach: Mike Alberghini
Next: at No. 16 Elk Grove, Friday
Update: The Pacers lost to No. 13 Elk Grove 24-17, the rally stalled when an onside kick late was recovered by the Thundering Herd.
Lawrence Hardy caught a touchdown from
Cam Davis and returned a fumble 75 yards for a score. The home field was dedicated to Coach Alberghini before the opener, his 25 consecutive playoff berths and seven section championships just a sliver of his impact.
14. (14) Rocklin, 4-1Section: Sac-Joaquin
League: Sierra Foothill

Update: The Thunder were idle. They opened league play with a 48-35 win over Nevada Union (Grass Valley) as
Brenden Rakela rushed 30 times for 242 yards and four touchdowns and
Cade Wyant passed for 249 and two scores. The loss was to ranked Grant 21-20 in the final minutes in an opener.
15. (11) Milpitas, 5-1Section: Central Coast
League: De Anza
Coach: Kelly King
Next: vs. Palo Alto, Friday
Update: The Trojans were upset by unranked but always formidable Los Gatos by allowing 190 yards passing and 156 rushing. A big early win was over No. 14 Antioch.
16. (13) Antioch, 3-2Section: North Coast
League: Bay Valley Athletic

Next: vs. No. 18 Freedom (Oakley), Friday
Update: The Panthers were idle. In their last outing, they pushed No. 1 De La Salle to the wire and gave the Spartans their closest game against NorCal competition - north of Fresno - since the Spartans tied Clayton Valley Charter in 2004.
Najee Harris rushed for 132 yards and Isaiah Dunn returned a kickoff 96 yards for a score. The other loss was to No. 15 Milpitas. Antioch last season posted its first 10-0 regular season last fall since 1977.

Update: The Raiders rolled Lathrop 54-0 as
Jared Rice ran for 148 yards and a score,
Montell Bland went for 44 and two touchdowns and
Dauson Booker raced for 37 and one. The losses were to No. 3 St. Mary's and to state-ranked Cathedral Catholic (San Diego) 28-25 after trailing by 18. Central Catholic is a four-time defending CIF state champion that has won a record 19 Sac-Joaquin Section titles.
18. (18) Freedom (Oakley), 5-0Section: North Coast
League: Bay Valley
Coach: Kevin Hartwig

Update: The Falcons were idle. In their last effort, they beat Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland) 43-13 as
Ronnie Rivers rushed for 204 yards and three scores and
Jonathan Pierce passed for four touchdowns. Coach Hartwig seeks an eighth playoff appearance in nine years.
19. (19) California (San Ramon), 4-1Section: North Coast
League: East Bay
Coach: Eric Billeci

Update: The Grizzlies were ilde. The loss was to ranked Monte Vista 27-24 on a last-play field goal.
Isaiah Sahagun rushed for two scores for a team that expects to still compete for the league title.
20. (20) Cardinal Newman (Santa Rosa), 4-1Section: North Coast
League: North Bay
Coach: Paul Cronin

Update: The Cardinals rolled unbeaten Ukiah 50-7, trailing quick early then taking off.
Jordon Brookshire had two first-half touchdown runs and the defense held Ukiah to 88 yards total. The loss was to No. 3 St. Mary's 49-32. Cardinal Newman once held the state-record for the longest winning streak of 47 in the 1970s.
21. (21) Jesuit (Carmichael), 4-1Section: Sac-Joaquin
League: Delta

Update: The Marauders beat upset-minded Davis - which beat unbeaten Elk Grove the previous week - behind
Calvin Brownholtz, who had his best game of the season. He had two touchdowns and
Lorenzo Burkes was strong again on both sides of the ball. The loss was to then No. 2 Folsom 42-28. Coach Blanton played and coached at De La Salle and led St. Patrick's/St.Vincent's (Vallejo) to championship success.
22. (22) Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills), 4-1Section: Sac-Joaquin
League: Sierra Foothill

Update: The Trojans came off a bye week and beat Woodcreek (Roseville) 35-14 by rushing for 411 yards on 55 carries.
Marco Baldacchino had 139 yards and two scores and he passed for 84, and
Michael Pittman rushed for 117 and two scores. A big win was over then-ranked Vacaville 41-15. The loss was to 5-time Nevada state champion Reed of Nevada 55-34. Reed lost earlier to ranked Clayton Valley Charter.
23. (23) Pleasant Valley (Chico), 3-2Section: Northern
League: Eastern

Update: The top-ranked team in the Northern Section was idle. It beat Napa 30-14 in the last outing as
Kyle Lindquist passed for 244. The losses were to No. 2 Del Oro 29-9 and No. 5 Valley Christian 17-14. The Vikings last season won their first section title since 1998.
