Bullitt East has won five straight games at home, while Ballard has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Chargers will welcome the Bruins at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bullitt East's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Whitefield Academy as they made off with a 16-0 win.

Mackenzie Mingus made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Mingus was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Courtney Bass, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Mollie Johnston was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Bullitt East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .880. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Ballard made easy work of Bethlehem on Monday and carried off a 10-0 victory.
Ryleah Lawrence was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jaedyn Lyons, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Ballard is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Bullitt East, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bullitt East has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .477. However, it's not like Ballard struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bullitt East was able to grind out a solid win over Ballard when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 6-3. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
