The Credo Gryphon lost against the Rancho Cotate Cougars back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Credo had to suffer through a rough 73-30 loss at the hands of Rancho Cotate. Credo was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-20.
Rancho Cotate's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adam Pengel, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Pengel is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Decimus Shaw was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Credo's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Rancho Cotate, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Credo will take on Roseland Collegiate Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roseland Collegiate Prep is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Rancho Cotate, they will head out on the road to take on Healdsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Healdsburg is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
