Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask James River Midlothian). They walked away with a 71-59 win over the Gulf Breeze Dolphins on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rapids.
Gulf Breeze's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hutson Rowe, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. Rowe's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Roman Jackson, who posted 15 points and five boards.
James River Midlothian pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Gulf Breeze, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. James River Midlothian will venture away from home to challenge Cosby at 7:30 p.m. on January 8th.
