The South Lenoir Blue Devils won the last time they faced the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs, and things went their way on Tuesday too. South Lenoir had just enough and edged the Bulldogs out 41-39.
Among those leading the charge was Tyazhia Midgett, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. It was the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Katherine Thompson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
South Lenoir's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Lenoir will take on the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they will head out on the road to square off against the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
