After soaring to 66 points the game before, Monterey were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were beaten by Avoyelles Charter 63-18. Monterey has not had much luck with Avoyelles Charter recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 74 points the game before, Harrisonburg were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were outmatched by Rapides on the road and fell 68-13. Harrisonburg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-10.
Despite the loss, Harrisonburg had strong showings from Colton Crum, who scored six points along with five rebounds, and Laine Dupuis, who scored two points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Dupuis has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Harrisonburg struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Rapides racked up 16 assists.
Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Harrisonburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
Monterey came out on top in a nail-biter against Harrisonburg in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, sneaking past 39-37. Does Monterey have another victory up their sleeve, or will Harrisonburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
