Enterprise has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the McLaurin Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Enterprise came up short against Kemper County and fell 42-34. While losing is never fun, Enterprise can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Kemper County is ranked 101st).
Despite the loss, Enterprise got a solid performance out of Makayla Sullivan, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, McLaurin's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 59-23 loss at the hands of Southeast Lauderdale. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss McLaurin has suffered yet this season.
Enterprise now has a losing record at 10-11. As for McLaurin, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-17.
Everything came up roses for Enterprise against McLaurin in their previous matchup on Friday as the squad secured a 63-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Enterprise since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
