The Deltona Wolves are taking a road trip to face off against the Spruce Creek Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Deltona 2, Spruce Creek 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Deltona proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past University 8-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Tessa Guenette spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zoe Cleveland, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Daisy Dickerson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Cleveland wasn't the only one making solid contact: Deltona kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Spruce Creek never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They came out on top against DeLand by a score of 5-0. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Aubrey Yeary tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Spruce Creek's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Minaberry, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Meagan Cowoski was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Spruce Creek's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Deltona, their record now sits at 12-2.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Deltona hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Spruce Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Deltona skirted past Spruce Creek 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
