The North Brunswick Scorpions will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Whiteville Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th. One thing working in North Brunswick's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
North Brunswick has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 28 points or more this season. They blew past Topsail, posting a 76-48 victory on the road. Given North Brunswick's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Topsail is ranked 450th), the result last Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Malakhi Daniels was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of North Brunswick's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Lindbert, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Whiteville pushed their score all the way to 62 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 72-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lumberton.
