Lake Belton has given up an average of 34.2 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Chaparral is facing Lake Belton at the wrong time: Lake Belton suffered their first home loss of the season on Friday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell 50-40 to the Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Eagles are ranked 120th).
Despite the defeat, Lake Belton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zyien Dupree rushed for 167 yards and three scores on only 15 carries. Dupree's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Davion Peters was another key player, gaining 132 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Chaparral played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Glenn, falling 42-20. The Bobcats were down 35-12 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Lake Belton will have to contain BRYSON COLEMAN as he made an impact in Chaparral's last game. He rushed for 94 yards, and also threw for 79 yards and one TD.
Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Lake Belton, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

It's a different story for Chaparral, though, as they've been averaging only 215.8 total yards.
