The Hamilton Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 62-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Germantown. While losing is never fun, Hamilton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Germantown is ranked 45th).
Timothy Matthews and Rodney Mcneal certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Matthews scored 21 points along with three steals, while Mcneal scored 13 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Matthews scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terron Cade, who scored six points.
Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Germantown, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton and Prestonsburg will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Prestonsburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 666 points over their last nine contests. Germantown will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Raleigh-Egypt at 4:30 p.m. on December 22nd.
