PECULIAR, Mo. -
Raymore-Peculiar (Peculiar, Mo.) took an early lead against
Central (St. Joseph, Mo.) and held on for a 17-12 victory on Saturday.
The Panthers put up 14 points in the opening frame. Raymore-Peculiar scored on a touchdown run by
Isaiah Truss and a touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, RP was up 14-12 at the half.
The Peculiar school has had a rough season, allowing 30.6 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Central, who notched a 58-6 victory over Truman in its previous outing. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Panthers, who were coming off a 44-38 defeat at the hands of Lee's Summit in its previous game.
