Softball Recap: Flintridge Sacred Heart Has No Trouble Against South East

Flintridge Sacred Heart's tournament run continued when they took on South East on Saturday. Flintridge Sacred Heart blew past South East 12-1. The Tologs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Gianna Candelora, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lesley Milton, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Candelora wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Flintridge Sacred Heart kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. Flintridge Sacred Heart is a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Flintridge Sacred Heart has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. South East now has a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flintridge Sacred Heart will venture away from home to face off against Rio Hondo Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South East, they will head out to take on South Gate at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South East is facing South Gate at the right time seeing as South Gate is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
