Meanwhile, Desert Christian didn't have too much trouble with San Manuel at home on Saturday as they won 49-30. The victory was just what Desert Christian needed coming off of a 47-16 loss in their prior match.
It was another big night for Anika Mulkey, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Addison Jones was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Sequoia Pathway Academy's loss was their 11th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.7 points per game. As for Desert Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Sequoia Pathway Academy was dealt a bruising 45-7 defeat at the hands of Desert Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Sequoia Pathway Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
