Riverside is 2-8 against Mauldin since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Riverside Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Mauldin Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. Riverside knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Mauldin likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, Riverside was able to grind out a solid win over Woodmont, taking the game 64-54.
Riverside's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Madison Garrido, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals, and Elly Trickett, who scored 25 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. The game was Trickett's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Miah Johnson, who scored 6 points.
Meanwhile, Mauldin waltzed into Tuesday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 40-36 W over James F. Byrnes.
Riverside's win lifted them to 3-0 while Woodmont's loss dropped them down to 1-5.
Riverside came up short against Mauldin in their previous meeting back in January, falling 70-61. Can Riverside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
