Jim Hill extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-10. They came up short against the George County Rebels, falling 22-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on Tuesday.
As for George County, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
For George County's part, Grant Reeves and Chandler Cameron were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Reeves tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Cameron pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Reeves a new career-high in strikeouts (three). At bat, Reeves went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Cameron went 1-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Wes Parker looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
Back at the plate, George County let Cooper Ward and Harrison Havard run wild. Ward went a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Havard went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits Havard has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Ulysses Pascaul, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jim Hill will venture away from home to challenge Terry at 7:00 p.m. on April 2. As for George County, they will head out to square off against Gulf Shores at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
