The Washington-Wilkes Tigers lost against the Warren County Screaming Devils last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Washington-Wilkes took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Warren County. Washington-Wilkes has not had much luck with Warren County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malik Ware, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Tamari Curry, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Washington-Wilkes has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Warren County, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-5.
Washington-Wilkes will head out on the road to square off against Lake Oconee Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington-Wilkes is facing Lake Oconee Academy at the right time seeing as Lake Oconee Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Warren County, they will be playing at home against Aquinas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Warren County's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home while Aquinas has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
