The Purvis Tornadoes had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 39-17 margin over West Marion. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Purvis also won the last time the pair played last Tuesday.
It was another big night for Systren Eliza Elenus, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The match was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was A'Niyah Reynolds, who scored two points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
Purvis is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for West Marion, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Purvis will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Collins at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for West Marion, they will head out on the road to face off against East Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully East Marion focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday.
