The Brookside Cardinals''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Clearview, falling 48-7. Brookside was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-0.
Nick Arra threw for 36 yards on six of 12 attempts. On the ground, Ben Montgomery rushed for 67 yards.
Clearview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cy Christensen, who threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Ethan Lorenzana was in the mix as well, providing Clearview with two touchdowns.
Brookside's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Columbia (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.4% over those games). As for Clearview, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Brookside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Clearview's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Berkshire at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
