On Tuesday, Lafayette Christian lost to Strong Rock Christian on the road by a decisive 67-50 margin. While losing is never fun, Lafayette Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 398th, while Strong Rock Christian is ranked 124th).
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vakiel Hammett, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Joshua Zapata, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Lafayette Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Strong Rock Christian, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lafayette Christian will take on CrossPointe Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. CrossPointe Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Strong Rock Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Heritage at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Heritage focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Thursday.
