Softball Recap: Loudonville Takes a Loss

Loudonville lost against Fredericktown back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Redbirds came up short against the Freddies, falling 7-1. The Redbirds' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Loudonville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Helaina Gray, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Loudonville's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4. As for Fredericktown, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Loudonville will be playing at home against Utica at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redskins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.4 runs per game on average), something the Redbirds will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fredericktown, they will head out to square off against Lexington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Freddies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Minutemen have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
