The Payson Lions entered their tilt with the Orem Tigers with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Payson took down Orem 51-37 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Payson, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Payson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cheznie Roundy, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Roundy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Avery Roundy was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Payson is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Orem, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Payson will be playing in front of their home fans against Provo at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Provo and Payson are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Orem, they will head out on the road to take on Uintah at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Uintah is on a three-game streak of home losses, Orem a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
