Bunkie is 0-10 against Marksville since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The pair will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bunkie will be strutting in after a victory while Marksville will be coming in after a loss.
After only 22 points in their last game, Bunkie made sure to put some points up on the board against Caldwell Parish on Friday. Bunkie breezed by Caldwell Parish at home to the tune of 65-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Bunkie has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, Marksville lost to Madison on the road by a decisive 61-44 margin on Saturday. Marksville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bunkie's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Marksville, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.
Bunkie couldn't quite finish off Marksville in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 32-29. Can Bunkie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
