Carolina International has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Carolina International posted their biggest win since November 22, 2023 on Friday. They really took it to Queen's Grant for the full four quarters, racking up a 79-50 victory at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-22.
Carolina International's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kendall Salter, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Landon Griffin, who scored 16 points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Salter has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Rodney Fullenwider Jr., who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Piedmont Community Charter came tearing into Tuesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 92-35 win over Apprentice Academy at home. Piedmont Community Charter's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Piedmont Community Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was TJ Biggers out in front who scored ten points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Biggers grabbed two or more steals. Bobby Erwin was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Carolina International now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Carolina International couldn't quite finish off Piedmont Community Charter when the teams last played last Wednesday and fell 57-55. Can Carolina International avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
