Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy has gone 7-2 against Christian Heritage Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Ospreys will take on the Knights at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six matchups.
Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy barely beat United Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Ospreys never let the Crusaders get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Ospreys, who have now won 12 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Robert Roberson looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Peyton Conley, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Greg Ghoorahoo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 9-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Christian Heritage Academy came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Crusaders 4-2.
Jake Bowles made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. Bowles was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Bowles wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Mullins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Christian Heritage Academy pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, their record is now 13-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Christian Heritage Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy took their win against Christian Heritage Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ospreys since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
