There's no place like home for The Columbus Explorers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They took down Goleman 24-6 on Thursday. Given Columbus' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Goleman is ranked 238th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbus to victory, but perhaps none more so than Edward Bandy, who rushed for 88 yards, and also caught a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Blackburn, who picked up 48 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Columbus' victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Goleman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Columbus will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Western at 7:30 p.m. on November 24th. As for Goleman, they will head out on the road to face off against Monsignor Pace at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Monsignor Pace will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
