If the Pasco Pirates were feeling good off their 57-35 takedown of the Tavares Bulldogs on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pasco fell 62-51 to Clearwater Central Catholic on Friday. While losing is never fun, Pasco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Clearwater Central Catholic is ranked 56th).
Isaac Williams and Sidney Allen certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Williams scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals, while Allen scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds. Williams continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of TJ Gebru, who scored 10 points.
Pasco's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pasco will take on Hudson at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Petersburg Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Petersburg Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 284 points over their last four matchups.
