The Monsignor Pace Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Bishop Moore Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monsignor Pace will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Monday, Monsignor Pace earned a 9-6 victory over Brito.
Daniel Fumero tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned runs any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Yuniel Paredes, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Joshua Poletto also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Monsignor Pace lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Bishop Moore hadn't done well against Father Lopez recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Bishop Moore came out on top in a nail-biter against Father Lopez, sneaking past 7-5.
Harrison Smith looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Jesiah Woodside was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Rubio, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Monsignor Pace pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Bishop Moore, their record is now 5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Monsignor Pace has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bishop Moore struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Monsignor Pace skirted past Bishop Moore 1-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2016. Will Monsignor Pace repeat their success, or does Bishop Moore have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
