Parrish Community has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Lennard has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Bulls will welcome the Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Parrish Community will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 12 points last Friday, then bounced right back against Gateway on Friday. The Bulls claimed a resounding 46-7 win over the Eagles. Given the Bulls' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Eagles are ranked 369th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Parrish Community's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacoby Thomas, who rushed for 40 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also caught one score. Brycen Volz was another key passer, throwing for 149 yards and one TD.
Parrish Community didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Connor Post and Jake Bendana. Post also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six. Kaleb Exume was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble and making eight total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Lennard put their dominant defense on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout last Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Plant City a 24-0 shutout. The 24-point effort marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Lennard's win came from a few key players Parrish Community will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jacob Mobley, who threw for 186 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Lennard's leading receiver London Green was Mobley's top target yet again, picking up 104 receiving yards and one score.
Lennard didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Plant City to a completion percentage of just 42.1%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Robert Gibbons and Mekhi Williams, who each logged one passes deflected. Lennard wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 66.7%.
Lennard's defense also made the game a nightmare for Ta'Vare Miller, racking up nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Devin Barnette and Jaxon Earl, who racked up five sacks between them. Another thorn in Plant City's side was Charles Mcdaniel, who picked up 0.5 sacks and made six total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.
Parrish Community's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Lennard, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Everything came up roses for Parrish Community against Lennard in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 34-3 victory. Do the Bulls have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Longhorns turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
