Oklahoma Christian extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 2 this week by beating Northeast, 55-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Saints.
Oklahoma Christian took down the Vikings 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Austin Brooks threw for 195 yards and six touchdowns and ran for 16 yards in the win.
Steven Northerton was the best wideout in the league this week as Luther fell to Millwood. Northerton racked up three receptions for 117 yards. Blake Browning helped Luther's passing attack out by catching two balls for 49 yards.
Luke Frankfurt was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 130 yards on 11 carries as Derek Turner's team lost to the Falcons. Teammate Cameron James added to the ground attack by rushing for 32 yards.
The Saints' Brooks and Blake Barnes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 2A District 2 in both passing and receiving yards. Brooks has thrown for 1937 yards this season, while Barnes, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 34 catches for 685 yards. Tazden Jevons from Dibble leads the league in rushing with 1554 yards.
Northerton of the Luther is only seven yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 138 carries Northerton has accumulated 993 yard this year.
The Saints' Brooks is within 63 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Shawn Meek's team.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Demons take on Millwood. Dibble is currently in fourth, while Tony Henry's team is in second.
Christian Heritage made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,255 from 7,469. The improvement came about via a 21-6 victory over Crooked Oak last week.
