The Alonso Ravens's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Plant City Raiders at 3:25 p.m. on December 29th. Alonso comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Wednesday, Alonso took a serious blow against Olympic, falling 44-7. While losing is never fun, Alonso can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 553rd in Florida, while Olympic is ranked 250th in North Carolina).
Alonso used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Avery Pico,
Willamina Most, and
Alexis Spirides posted two points each.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Plant City, who are still winless after their tenth matchup. They were dealt a 45-15 defeat at the hands of Fivay on Wednesday.
Alonso's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Plant City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.
Alonso strolled past Plant City in their previous matchup back in January of 2021 by a score of 50-35. Will Alonso repeat their success, or does Plant City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
