Edgewood is 9-1 against Northview since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Mustangs will look to defend their home field against the Knights at 5:30 p.m. Edgewood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Edgewood's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Greencastle. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Tiger Cubs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

ALLY BLAND
05/06/25 @ Greencastle | 13 |
04/30/25 vs South Putnam | 8 |
04/25/25 @ Linton-Stockton | 19 |
04/23/25 vs Sullivan | 9 |
04/22/25 @ Brown County | 12 |
+ 4 more games |
The result came thanks to ALLY BLAND's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, OLIVIA McPHERSON was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Northview made sure to put some runs up on the board against Sullivan on Tuesday. The Knights came out on top against the Golden Arrows by a score of 12-7. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Knights' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Maggie Krause made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Krause was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Northview let Chloe Batchelor and Kaylee Krause run wild. Batchelor got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Krause got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. What's more, Krause posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April. Another player making a difference was Mackie Pell, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Northview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Edgewood pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Northview, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Edgewood has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Northview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Edgewood beat Northview 5-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
