Richard Montgomery is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Einstein 6-0. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rockets as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
The result came thanks to Jacob Hecht's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Richard Montgomery is 4-1-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Richard Montgomery let Logan Nguyen-Nhu and Ojas Bailey run wild. Nguyen-Nhu went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Bailey went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Nguyen-Nhu a new career-high. Theo Leshner was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Blake came up short against Rockville on Monday and fell 8-4. The Bengals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Nate Henry was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March.
At the plate, Diego Troconis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Monroe, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.
Blake's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9-1. As for Richard Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 9-14-1.
Richard Montgomery couldn't quite get it done against Blake in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 5-1. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
