Karina Lefort was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Peak to Peak got a massive performance out of Grace Trasky, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Evelyn Deemurrie was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Kennedy came up short against Overland on Tuesday, falling 15-4. The Commanders haven't had much luck with the Trailblazers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Aleeyah Garcia made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12-1. As for Peak to Peak, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Peak to Peak has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .465. However, it's not like Kennedy struggles in that department as they've averaged .565. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Peak to Peak took their victory against Kennedy in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 14-2 score. Will the Pumas repeat their success, or do the Commanders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
