Arroyo is 9-1 against the Lancers since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Arroyo Dons will be staying on the road to face off against the Tennyson Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Saturday, Arroyo was beaten by the Grizzlies 84-36. While losing is never fun, Arroyo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1074th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 370th).
Meanwhile, Tennyson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell 64-57 to Mt. Eden. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Larrie Noble, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Jose Tecua was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Arroyo dropped their record down to 3-19 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Tennyson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.
Arroyo came up short against the Lancers in their previous meeting back in January, falling 62-52. Can Arroyo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
