The Brethren Bobcats stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 76-25 win over Mesick on the road. Given Brethren's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 626th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Mesick lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rylee Blach. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Blach scored 15 or more points.
Brethren has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Mesick, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Brethren will be playing at home against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pentwater will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Mesick, they will head out on the road to square off against the Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
