Uxbridge has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Southbridge Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Uxbridge has not done well against Northbridge recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Uxbridge had just enough and edged Northbridge out 49-47.
Ethan Mccusker was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Uxbridge's points. Another player making a difference was Kellen Lachapelle, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Southbridge scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Blackstone-Millville by a score of 78-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Uxbridge's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Southbridge, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Uxbridge strolled past Southbridge in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 60-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Uxbridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
