The Bowne Wildcats came tearing into Tuesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 87-70 win over Eagle Academy III. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Josiah Salmon, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Khaleel Williams-Mitchell, who scored 17 points.
Bowne's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points per game. As for Eagle Academy III, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Bowne will head out on the road to square off against Francis Lewis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Francis Lewis will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 625th, while Bowne is ranked 147th). As for Eagle Academy III, they will be playing at home against Construction at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
