Basketball Recap: Jonathan Williams Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Trinity Christian

Greenville Christian Academy won the last time they faced Trinity Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Greenville Christian Academy Knights enjoyed a cozy 47-33 win over the Trinity Christian Tigers. The Knights' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Greenville Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jonathan Williams out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Williams has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Matthew Dove, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 17 points.

Greenville Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Christian only pulled down two offensive boards.

Loss or not, Trinity Christian got some senior leadership from Drew Williams and Christian LoPresti. Williams went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points, while LoPresti posted five points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Williams is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Greenville Christian Academy pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Trinity Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

When Greenville Christian Academy and Trinity Christian next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Greenville Christian Academy will try to stop Hilltop Christian's six-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greenville Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season. Similarly, Trinity Christian will try to stop New Bern Christian Academy's nine-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
