The Carver Challengers put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They didn't even let Longwood onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Given Carver's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Longwood is ranked 604th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carver pushed their record up to 14-0 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Despite that those good results, the team's offense hasn't been rolling: across that stretch, they only averaged 26.9 points per game. As for Longwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Carver won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hancock at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Hancock: 11.7, Carver: 11.7) so any points scored will be well earned. Longwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
