Wheaton Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Saint Viator Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Wheaton Academy is ranked 95th, while Saint Viator is ranked 71st).
Wheaton Academy stacked a seventh blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 68-0 victory over Phoenix Military at home. Wheaton Academy pushed the score to 55-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Phoenix Military had no chance of recovering from.
Brett Kasper was his usual excellent self, rushing for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Kasper was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. Charlie Coniaris was in the mix too, providing Wheaton Academy with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Saint Viator owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 14-0 victory over Richmond-Burton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Saint Viator.
Wheaton Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Saint Viator, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
