Baseball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Palatka

Palatka proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Keystone Heights Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted against the Indians since March 25, 2022.

Brayden Johns looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Palatka: the team is 5-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Malloy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Palatka's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Keystone Heights, they moved to 13-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
