The Holdrege Dusters will be home for the holidays to greet the Gothenburg Swedes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Holdrege came up short against Sandy Creek and fell 43-36. While losing is never fun, Holdrege can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Sandy Creek is ranked third).
Meanwhile, Gothenburg didn't have too much trouble with St. Patrick's at home on Thursday as they won 52-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Gothenburg.
This is the second loss in a row for Holdrege and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Gothenburg, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Holdrege barely slipped by Gothenburg when the teams last played back in February, winning 47-46. Will Holdrege repeat their success, or does Gothenburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
