The Lanham Christian Lions waltzed into their matchup Wednesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They snuck past Einstein with a 58-53 win. Given Lanham Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Einstein is ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lanham Christian found their leader in underclassman Diego Joy, who scored 26 points. The contest was Joy's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Naz Joy, who scored 12 points.
Lanham Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Einstein, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Lanham Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Thomas Stone at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th. One thing working in Thomas Stone's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games. As for Einstein, they will take on Wheaton at TBD on January 5, 2024. Wheaton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
