Odem is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Bishop is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Owls will host the Badgers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Odem barely beat Taft the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Owls were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Greyhounds on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Aria Bray made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Julia Garza was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Alyssa Spurlock was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Odem kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.8.
Meanwhile, Bishop's hitters rose to the challenge against an Angels pitching crew that boasted an average of only 2.35 runs allowed on Tuesday. The Badgers put the hurt on Incarnate Word Academy with a sharp 14-2 victory. The Badgers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Like Odem, Bishop also got a great game from a two-way player: Cambrie Rios. She tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Rios was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Jasmine Ramirez was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sayde Castaneda, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Bishop is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Odem, they now have a winning record of 15-14.
