The Maize Eagles fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Goddard by a score of 31-22 on Thursday. Maize's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
The critical scores for Maize came from Bryson Hayes, Jaeden Martin, and Brayden Myovela.
Despite the loss, Goddard still got an impressive performance from Micah Johnson, who rushed for 209 yards and a touchdown. Johnson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
Maize's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Goddard, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.
Maize does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Goddard also has no future games currently scheduled.
