Basketball Recap: Southern Choctaw Comes Up Short

It was fun while it lasted, but Southern Choctaw's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Jackson Aggies, falling 95-42. The Indians lost against the Aggies in their previous head to head back in January of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 48-42 score last time.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lamarrance Thompson, who posted 17 points. Braylen Jones was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southern Choctaw fell to 5-1. As for Jackson, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Choctaw will take on Millry at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jackson, they will face off against Wilcox Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
