Middletown (Md.) saw its nine-point lead dwindle to five, but still managed to hang on and upset
Westminster (Md.) 19-14 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Brad Rinehart in the second quarter, the Knights were up 16-7 at the half.
Middletown saw its 9-point halftime lead fall to two entering the fourth.
Westminster (0-1) goes up against Linganore in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Middletown (1-0) locks horns with Winters Mill also in a non-conference game.
