It was a good run, but Newbury Park Adventist unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 72-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santa Rosa Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Jones, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten assists. Jones is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 21 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Mycah Mason, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 20 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Newbury Park Adventist's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Santa Rosa Academy, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

Newbury Park Adventist won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Corona at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Santa Rosa Academy, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Rim of the World at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Santa Rosa Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Rim of the World likes a good challenge.
